Good News:
Kyle and I had our ultrasound changed to THIS THURSDAY! We are excited to say the least! We both are very thrilled to actually know what baby is in there! We have imagined having another boy and how great that would be in SO many respects. We have tried to imagine what it would be like to have a little girl around the house and we think it would be marvelous as well.
We have contemplated waiting until Christmas day to "find out" with our family in view, however.....here is the
Bad News:
Everyone (except Kyle and myself) will have to wait until Christmas day. EVERYONE. Kyle and I want to have one special day of knowing before everyone else. Sorry. :(
We have decided to find out alone and have everyone else wait until Christmas to share the joy. We love the thought of sharing the news with everyone at the same time, but we would rather watch everyone else's reaction rather than everyone watching ours. We thought it would be a fun present to ourselves. So sorry if that sounds selfish, it may be, but it is going to be fun for us to see some of you drool before the feast is served.... ;)
Until then....

Baby #3- More Thoughts
We have two weeks exactly until we find out which sex this baby is, and I am very excited and a little nervous. I am expecting for the tech to say "It's a boy!" because that is all I have ever heard and frankly, another boy would be wonderful to me. I love raising my boys. I love encouraging and pushing them towards masculine traits that God expects and honors. I love being "tough" with them and saying things like " Be tough", "Be kind and gentle with the ladies", "no excuses", "take responsibilty." So on and so forth. I am in boy --> men mode.
On the other hand, part of me "feels" like there is a girl in there, because I have had a different pregnancy in a lot of ways and all I think about are girl names. Now, if I'm wrong, oh well. I am surely fine with that. Ramble. ramble, ramble.
Kyle has officially vetoed the name Betsy from the radar, so off to the drawing board again.....He encouraged me to not think about it until we find out because he knows that from time to time I just go on and on and try to find that right name. (Just like I am doing now!!) So, I totally agree with him, however I came across two that I like very much.
Glory.......and.........Lyla.
Glory because, well, woman is man's glory! and we are to be reflecting God's glory all the time. What a beautiful honor to have that name associated with my daughter. Lyla because it is a lovely feminine name and it sounds soft to me.
If it is a boy, then Kyle has chosen.......Canon Emmitt. Canon means "church official" and we like it because it reminds of of the canon of scripture. Emmitt after Kyle's dad (his middle name) and he thinks it flows well.
Anyway, it is pretty awesome that the Lord knows all of those details and He provides for us perfectly and also perfectly for our little one!
Just in case it's a girl, here is the bedding I would love to get! ;)

Christmas
The world and Satan continue to steal and destroy righteous thoughts of the Advent season. Shopping, Santa, materialism, and deadlines is what we hear and see this time of year.* Let's prepare our hearts and minds to love Christ Jesus now and forever and not be swept away by the lusts of the world. By reading God's Word and mediating (constantly coming back to it) on it, we are given the hope and promise that God will work in us and our minds will be renewed. Join me as I seek to do so.
*I am not declaring that shopping or deadlines are bad. However I am declaring that Santa and materialism are. :)

New Post
I have been told by lovely, beautiful, godly, sister-in-law to "seriously update your blog." She is right. So I thought I'd tell you about our life lately....here you go Cammion. :) I love you.
Our power was out last week for two days, so we resided at Mom and Dad Pattersons for those days+thanksgiving+an extra day for Kyle and his dad to work on our brakes (Saturn)= a long, fun week at Nana and Papa's. During the week, Rowen and Gunnar both had viruses and had fevers. Mama went shopping on Black Friday with my usual crew and got all of our Christmas shopping done. :) We also played Rook, watched 2 movies (How to Train Your Dragon and Up), played Super Mario Brothers on the Wii, read Nahum, finished my book, went Christmas Tree shopping, cut down our Christmas tree, missed church because of my sickies, decorated for Christmas, did a craft, and went grocery shopping after most of our food was bad from the power outage. It was a wonderful week and this week will be the same I am sure. God is good to us!
As far as baby goes, baby #3 is a mover. Always feeling kickies in the afternoon and evening and I love it! I am somewhat "fearful" of the action this baby is already getting. I am thinking he/she will not be like Rowen (calm, and the most amazing sleeper in the world). :) But what do I know?! Maybe it just wants to get out and play with brothers....he/she hears them laughing all the time! I love this stage of pregnancy!
Gunnar is ever so cute by engaging us in conversation and telling his Mama that she is beautiful almost every morning. He is quite the reader during his three "reading times"
everyday. He helps me cook, clean, fold towels, and gets Rowen water and snacks. I often hear him telling Rowie that he "needs to calm down because everything is fine" when he cries. Wonder where he got that from! He loves playing outside and is thoroughly enjoying his new snow boots from Grandma! He has quite the imagination and is always "killing" the bad dinosaurs and crocodiles that attack our house and tells them that they are "evil." We laugh a lot.
Rowen is becoming a little charmer and flirt. His two words are: "bisz-sha" and "aba-dah." He is the most darling baby and I find myself chewing his ears and cheeks because they are so cute. He leans to give me kisses a lot and does everything brother does. He loves when Gunny makes him laugh and loves to eat. He eats all the time and when he is not eating, he is sleeping. He is pretty much the easiest baby I have ever met.
Until next time....

Baby #3 Update
So I went to the Doctor's office yesterday and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was sweet. 173 beats/min. I opted out for going again at 16 weeks because all you hear is the heartbeat again. Not that I don't want to hear it, but appointments usually end up taking half of my day away with dropping off kids and driving and so on and so forth. But the great news is that we will find out what baby is on December 28th!! Can hardly wait! Guess Auntie Noelle will be happy to know she will be the first (besides Kyle) to know what the baby is because she will be there! Yay!

I Declare A Misnomer
I will explain....
Being "with child", I am commonly asked this question: "Are you hoping for that girl?" I answer truthfully and say that surely it would be a great privilege to have a girl added to our little family, but in all actuality, I am more than content to have another boy. I do love raising "Future Men." The next comment is usually made: "As long as it is healthy, right?" And I in somewhat of a whirlwind answer, "Sure." Well, my answer has changed.
I am redefining healthy and declaring a misnomer! A misnomer is a term which suggests an interpretation that is know to be untrue. Why are Americans obsessed with health? I, as a Christian, a slave of Christ Himself, am to joyfully accept all things that come to pass, not because they are always pure and lovely, but because they come from God the Father, who at all times is Good, Righteous, Just, Pure, Lovely, Compassionate, Slow to Anger, and promises to always do good to me His child. I posses love from the Creator of the Universe, that not everyone can claim. Why do you O Christian complain about anything or everything? Why do we humans declare rights to things we own not? (Romans 9:14-30)
A healthy baby, for the Christian should be a misnomer. For the Christian, a healthy baby is not the goal of pregnancy. Yes, I take vitamins and eat healthfully because I want to steward my body, His Temple, in a way in which brings glory to Him. However, the goal of pregnancy is to rest in that, after I have done what He requires of me, He will give me a gift which I do not deserve to care for on this earth. Oh the responsibility of growing a child in the fear and admonition of the Lord !! Whether that child has all 10 fingers and toes, a healthy heart, a functioning liver, or all the chromosomal perfections that we take for granted, is up to the Lord Almighty and knowing Him, allows me to rest in HIS perfection, not mine. Like our fore fathers Job, Joseph, David, and Daniel, I long to and resolve to fix my mind on Thee O Christ!
Whatever the Lord wills, is what I desire. Amen.
"You will keep Him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee." Isaiah 26:3

Sweetness of Life
I am watching Gunnar and Dada read books and thought there is no better life than to Love God, because when you do, it doesn't matter where you are or who you are with, life can never be sweeter.

Well Good News!
Hello Blog,
I'm Paige the one who created you.....
Sorry it's been so long! I have not cared for the computer much. Just to let everyone one know.....WE are expecting baby #3!! I am due around the 22nd of May which makes me a little more than 8 weeks along. We feel very blessed to have another arrow in our family. (Psalm 128) We recognize God's perfect providence in our lives and both having been the third child in our respective families, we have a quirky expectation to have this one blow us out of the water! ;) I will keep you posted and hopefully get some family pics up eventually.

Our Precious Gunnar
Keep us in your prayers Tuesday as we head to Dr. David Pratt who is our latest and greatest Ophthalmologist for Gunnar. Two months ago, we received a referral to Dr. Shelley a pediatric ophthalmologist and learned that Gunnar has a condition called ptosis. It is congenital, meaning it has been so since birth. We always thought that he had "sleepy" eyes, but in fact it can cause a number of potential problems in the future, therefore we are going to find out when we can get the corrective surgery he needs in order to prevent those problems from arising. The good news is that he is in the Hands of God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. And He is good. Therefore we have no worries, because He will care for our needs. Pray that Dr. Pratt would be wise in discerning when and how the help might be administered to Gunnar. Thank you!!!
