So please forgive me for posting so late! I have been wanting to sit down and put a bunch of pictures up, but I haven't been very organized the last week..... :)
Last Tuesday, delivery day, was very interesting! Here is the story:
I woke up around 3:30am to shortness of breath and talked with my midwife who gave me two choices: Go to ER or go to the office for a BP check at 8am. I chose the latter. I figured I would let them make that decision. After seeing the midwife and all my vitals were decent (mind you not quite normal, but normal enough). They said to go to ER.....arriving at the hospital by 9am, I quickly was given an IV port just in case anything came up and started doing BIG tests. After an X-RAY, CAT scan, and EKG (wanting to rule out the worst case scenario....a blood clot in the lungs), everything turned out fine. There was a little trace of protein in my urine and my BP was high for me, but still in normal range. Both are signs of pre-ecclampsia.....BAD! They still couldn't figure out why I had continued to have trouble breathing. The ER doc gave me two options: Go upstairs and wait to hear from my OB and midwife or go back to the office to have them give me an exam to see if inducement would be feasible.
At the office, Kim, one of my midwives checked me and I was already 3cm and almost completely effaced, and she had good reason to believe my body was in pre-labor due to my stressed condition and that we might be looking at pre-ecclampsia to hit hard soon. With all of that, Kyle and I went right back to St. Joe's and were admitted to the 14th floor, Labor and Delivery. I was given a "natural" inducement pill that takes about 1-3 hrs to see results from and sure enough after an hour, I was feeling some slight contractions.
At 7:45, Kim broke my water and the Lord graciously gave me my breath back! Yay!, but the pain had just begun! Four hours and ten minutes later Rowen Daniel was out and I was so glad to be done and Kyle was so excited to have him born on 9-29-09. :)
Labor was way harder this time, but WAY shorter and worth every minute. My precious little man has been such a blessing and we are praying that the Lord would use him for His kingdom and glory! What a joy it is for me to have the responsibility to raise 2 God-fearing men for Christ! I am so thankful!!
I will post more pictures as the time permits me to. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for praying for Kyle, myself, and Rowen during this time. What a joy it is to have the knowledge that my sisters and brothers are lifting us up to the Throne of Grace and that Christ himself is interceding as well. What a gift it is to be the daughter of the King!
Love to you all! Paige

Oh how I wish I could hold him- so precious! I'm glad you are OK. It must have been a little concerning to have difficulty breathing. Hope to see your sweet family soon. Love, Deidre
I love how God blesses us all with our own story of childbirth. It is such a blessing to me a mother. God bless your growing family. Julia Shiras
